What Our Sales Data Shows
CCTV Tradie's internal sales data shows substantial growth in CCTV camera kit sales during the 2025–26 financial year.
Compared with FY2024–25, CCTV kit sales increased by 65.3%, while the number of orders increased by 58.5%. The average order value also moved above $1,000.
These figures relate specifically to CCTV Tradie's sales and should not be interpreted as representing the entire Australian CCTV market. However, they provide a useful picture of purchasing patterns among our customers and how those patterns changed over the financial year.
Growth was also recorded across all four quarters, rather than being concentrated in a single period.
Two Years of Growth, Quarter by Quarter
Comparing quarterly sales between FY2024–25 and FY2025–26 shows the following year-on-year changes:
| Quarter | Comparison | YoY Sales Growth |
|---|---|---|
| Q1 (Jul–Sep) | FY24–25 to FY25–26 | +61.5% |
| Q2 (Oct–Dec) | FY24–25 to FY25–26 | +72.7% |
| Q3 (Jan–Mar) | FY24–25 to FY25–26 | +88.8% |
| Q4 (Apr–Jun) | FY24–25 to FY25–26 | +49.5% |
Q3, covering January to March, recorded the highest year-on-year sales growth at 88.8%. Q4 recorded the lowest growth rate of the four quarters, although sales were still 49.5% higher than the corresponding period in the previous financial year.
Our sales records also show relatively strong activity during October to December and April to June.
There are several possible explanations for these periods, including Christmas and end-of-year purchasing, business budget cycles, EOFY spending, promotions and seasonal purchasing behaviour. Our sales data alone does not establish which of these factors was responsible for the increases.
State and Regional Sales
The geographic data shows considerable differences in CCTV Tradie's growth across Australia.
Victoria
Victoria remained our largest region and recorded strong year-on-year growth in FY2025–26.
CCTV kit sales increased by 80.3%, while the number of orders increased by 73.7%.
Victoria therefore accounted for an important part of our overall growth during the financial year. Sales in the beginning of FY2026–27 have also been higher than the corresponding period last year based on our internal sales records to date.
There may be several factors contributing to Victoria's performance, including our existing customer base, brand awareness, local availability and access to our Melbourne operations. Further analysis would be required before attributing the increase to broader changes in security demand across Victoria.
New South Wales
New South Wales also recorded substantial growth.
Sales increased by 58.2%, while order numbers increased by 48.9% compared with the previous financial year.
The figures indicate that NSW continues to be an important market for CCTV Tradie, both in overall sales and order volume.
Western Australia
Western Australia recorded one of the highest percentage increases in our data.
Sales increased by 74.8%, while orders increased by 50%.
The difference between sales growth and order growth also suggests that the average value of orders increased during the period.
While factors such as property development, security awareness and purchasing by regional customers may contribute to demand, our internal sales figures do not establish the cause of WA's growth.
Queensland
Queensland recorded more moderate growth compared with Victoria, NSW and WA.
Sales increased by 8.3%, while orders increased by 18.2%.
The fact that order growth was higher than sales growth indicates that average spending per order decreased compared with the previous year.
Given Queensland's population and the size of its residential and commercial markets, it remains an important region for us. However, our data does not indicate why growth was lower than in several other states.
Australian Capital Territory
The ACT recorded no CCTV kit sales in FY2024–25 in the dataset used for this analysis, followed by recorded sales in FY2025–26.
Because the previous year's figure was zero, a meaningful year-on-year percentage growth rate cannot be calculated.
The result shows that CCTV Tradie began receiving CCTV kit orders from the ACT during FY2025–26. More data will be required before determining whether this represents an ongoing trend.
New Zealand
Orders were also recorded from several New Zealand regions during FY2025–26, including Auckland, Wellington, Otago, Waikato, Canterbury and Bay of Plenty.
These regions were not represented in the previous financial year's dataset used for this analysis.
At this stage, New Zealand represents an early-stage market for CCTV Tradie. Future sales data will provide a clearer indication of whether demand is continuing to develop.
South Australia and Tasmania
South Australia and Tasmania recorded slight year-on-year declines.
Both remain relatively small markets within our overall CCTV kit sales. Because sales volumes are lower, a relatively small change in the number or value of orders can have a larger effect on year-on-year percentage comparisons.
New and Returning Customers
Another useful measure is the difference between new and returning customer orders.
New customer orders increased by 54.6% year-on-year.
Returning customer orders increased by 106.7% year-on-year.
The data therefore shows growth from both customer groups, with returning customer orders increasing at a considerably higher percentage rate.
There are several possible reasons why customers return, including expanding an existing CCTV system, purchasing equipment for another property, replacing equipment or buying additional security products. The sales data itself does not identify the reason behind each repeat purchase.
Nevertheless, the increase in returning orders is an important measure for us because it shows that a growing number of previous customers made additional purchases during FY2025–26.
Which Products Were Popular?
Our FY2025–26 sales also show demand across several brands, price points and types of security equipment.
Hikvision 8MP ColorVu Kits were among our strongest CCTV kit products by revenue. These systems provide high-resolution surveillance and colour-focused low-light imaging options.
Aiphone JOS-1VW Video Intercom Kit also performed strongly. Unlike a conventional CCTV kit, this is a video intercom solution, showing that customer purchases extend beyond surveillance cameras to other security and access products.
Dahua 8-Channel WizSense NVR systems continued to attract residential and small commercial customers looking for network-based surveillance and supported intelligent detection features.
TP-Link VIGI CCTV Kits, including systems based around the VIGI S485 series, also contributed to sales across the financial year.
The product mix indicates that customers are purchasing across multiple brands and system types rather than concentrating demand within a single product category.
Possible Factors Behind the Growth
Our internal data establishes what changed in our sales, but it does not by itself establish why those changes occurred.
Several factors may have contributed.
Security awareness
Concern about theft, break-ins and property security may influence purchasing decisions for some households and businesses. Establishing a direct relationship between crime rates and our sales growth would require separate crime and customer research data.
Improved camera technology
Current CCTV systems commonly include features such as higher-resolution imaging, improved low-light performance, human and vehicle classification, smartphone access and intelligent event detection.
These capabilities provide customers with more options than many older CCTV and DVR systems.
Simpler network camera systems
PoE camera systems can simplify installation because compatible cameras can transmit data and receive power through an Ethernet connection. This can make some systems more accessible to technically confident customers.
Installation requirements still depend on the property, cabling, equipment and applicable electrical or licensing requirements.
Business purchasing
Commercial customers represent part of CCTV Tradie's customer base. Businesses may purchase CCTV when opening new locations, upgrading existing systems, replacing older equipment or expanding coverage.
Our sales data does not separately establish how much of the annual increase resulted from business investment.
Seasonal purchasing
Our quarterly figures show stronger sales during certain periods of the year, including October to December and April to June.
Business budget cycles, EOFY purchasing, promotional periods and seasonal customer behaviour are possible contributing factors. Further customer and transaction-level analysis would be needed to determine their individual effects.
What We Can Learn From the Data
The clearest finding from our internal records is that CCTV Tradie sold substantially more CCTV kits in FY2025–26 than in FY2024–25.
Total CCTV kit sales increased by 65.3%, orders increased by 58.5%, and growth was recorded across every quarter.
Victoria, Western Australia and New South Wales recorded particularly strong year-on-year sales growth, while Queensland grew at a slower rate. We also began recording CCTV kit orders from the ACT and several New Zealand regions that were not represented in the previous year's dataset.
Returning customer orders increased by 106.7%, compared with 54.6% growth in new customer orders.
These results describe purchasing activity within CCTV Tradie. They should not be treated as evidence that the Australian CCTV industry as a whole grew at the same rate.
As we collect more sales data, comparing these figures with external information such as population growth, recorded property offences, building activity and broader security industry data may provide additional context around the changes we are seeing.
For customers looking for a new surveillance system, CCTV Tradie stocks CCTV kits from brands including Hikvision, Dahua, TP-Link VIGI, Uniview and others, covering smaller residential systems through to larger multi-camera installations.
